Stealing Away with Jesus

Hi,

This moment matters. This moment is worth something. Time with Jesus and in His presence is what matters and counts in this life. My children, my husband and our family is what matters. Nothing else matters. If you don’t have Jesus- and Jesus doesn’t have a hold on you- what really matters in this life? Your job doesn’t matter, your social life doesn’t matter- NOTHING MATTERS WITHOUT THE LORD ON YOUR SIDE.

I wanted to spend a moment with my Saviour on this day. It is Gabriel Elijah’s birthday and I am looking forward to celebrating with him all day- we may go get some ice cream and balloons, and of course his first haircut. We are so excited. Never forget what matters in this life. God is beyond worthy and He wants us to sneak away for some time with Him. This life can get very busy, and you’re bound to crack under pressure if you can’t steal away with Jesus. That’s how it is with me, anyway- I need worship music with all of my favorite iTunes, and an open space to pray and kneel before God, earnestly seeking my Saviour in prayer. Or even my closet. Sometimes, I turn on the closet light, make a bed on the floor- turn on Pandora and relax in the Lord’s presence. And He comes- He meets me there. Every time He takes a moment to remind me how important I am, how special I am, and that His love for me will never fail. His love is everlasting and unending. He loves me with a holy love, a brotherly love; and Father God loves me with a daddy love. He’s my Abba, my Abba; My Abba GOD. My PAPA GOD.

My struggling words can never find the proper vocabulary to express the magnitude of gratitude that I have in You and for You, my Lord. Continue to guide my footsteps and lead me deep into Your sweet will for my life.

Today I plucked the following from the prayer box:

“For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:8

“I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not.” -Isaiah 41:13a

Amen.
