Upcoming Labor and Delivery – GOD With Us

Praise the Lord.

Daniel and I are so close to the birth of our third son. God has been so gracious to us throughout this pregnancy. I have told everyone that it has been the most easy, stress-free pregnancy out of the three that I’ve ever had. Is it because of the summertime? Or, is it because the Lord is with us? I believe that Jehohovah Shammah (“The Lord is There”) is with us.

Yesterday before bed, hubby felt a leading to pray over me, and anoint me and my belly where my dear son is. It warmed my heart to know that he wanted to pray over us, and ask the Lord to give us a touch and a safe delivery. He anointed me and my belly; he prayed and I prayed with him. We prayed together unto the Lord.

Afterward, he went downstairs to grab our Prayer “Bread Box” that his father gave to us when we first got married. The bread box contains a row of scriptures, or manna (bread) for one to pluck and read both front and back sides. He picked one – I picked one.

Mine said:

“In the day of my trouble, I will call upon thee:  for thou wilt answer me.” -Psalm 86:7

“When thou passeth through the waters, I will be with thee.” -Isaiah 43:2a.

God is so amazing. He is alive, living and active in the lives of His children. These scriptures that the Lord allowed me to pluck, were just for me. Just for me and Esriel. It is referring to my upcoming childbirth. I never ponder labor and delivery until the actual moment, as to not become anxious– but the Holy Spirit says here, IN THE DAY OF MY (YOUR) TROUBLE, WHITNEY– I WILL ANSWER. Hallelujah – He has me in the palm of His holy hands. He will protect me.

The second scripture is REASSURANCE that HE will be protecting my baby Esriel throughout our labor and delivery. When I saw this scripture, I nearly cried. I felt chills and knew that the Lord was Jehovah Shammah, GOD WITH ME – for HE IS RIGHT THERE! “WHEN THOU (ESRIEL) PASSETH THROUGH THE WATERS (CHILDBIRTH), I WILL BE WITH THEE.”

My Lord, He is so good. He has blessed us- He calms my nerves, HE SPEAKS TO ME. HE KNOWS MY EVERY NEED, MY EVERY ANGST, MY EVERY CONCERN! Glory, Jesus!!!!!

You call me worthy, worthy of your blessings, worthy of your prayers, Jesus, worthy of your comfort. Thank you for being the God that I so desperately need every day of my human life. There are no words, no gratitude that can measure up to the ADORING LOVE that you have FOR ME and my family!!! You are insurmountable, holy, gracious and righteous Jesus!!

Well, the Lord does it again. Winter brings me a little lower each year. I am cold-natured and it is very difficult for me to bear colder months. Sometimes I get weary, thinking about the long trudge that I have to make in the mornings to my campus building for work—and how frozen my face and legs get—(every) (single) (morning).

And, it may seem like nothing—but, cloudy days and rainy days affect moods, and sometimes I allow it to affect mine– but, praise God, Spring is coming. Spring is on the way. Today, the Lord showed me up and told me that I can handle anything, because He can. And, I’m His child.

The scripture on my Bible app was this: Isaiah 40:28, “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.”

This touched my core because God was telling me through this scripture—sometimes things get hard, and sometimes we have to endure—but, don’t faint, don’t complain… you can do it, even through your weariness. “I AM with you.” You may get cold in your body, your mood may change with the seasons, but I the Lord CHANGETH NOT. Hold onto my unchanging hand and remain happy and joyful.

(The photo here is from my husband and I’s anniversary this year. Flowers remind me of God’s creation, Spring, the beauty of nature and warmer weather to come. The Lord is so gracious).

Mommy’s Third Baby Boy

My husband and I had our 18 week ultrasound this week and gender was also confirmed. We are having a healthy THIRD baby boy!!! My husband and I could not be any more excited!! The doctor said that he is growing so well! At our first ultrasound the technician said that he was measuring one week ahead, so she changed my due date from August 11 to August 4. I nearly was going to have a baby on MY birthday!

I prayed for 4 boys before we conceived any children and even before I was married, yet all my dreams are coming true RIGHT NOW!!! So grateful!! My sons are so excited to have another brother join our troop. My husband is 1 of 9 children, and 1 of 7 boys!! It’s in our genes!!

At our appointment my obstetrician Dr. Ferguson said that she is so happy with my weight gain. I have gained only the weight of the baby as of right now – which is 8 ounces!! She said that I am doing everything right in terms of that. His heartbeat was 147 before my nutri-grain bar, and up to 156 after I ate it! When our ultrasound technician, Ms. Dana did our ultrasound, little boo was laying on his side. It was the cutest thing to see him positioned in there, and so comfortable.

She gave us a print out with tons of ultrasound photos. We saw his little spine, his fingers and toes, and his little baby profile. This baby was planned, and I told my husband that I am so much in love with little baby already. I talk to him all of the time. I love you little man!!

Adventures in Homeownership!

We’ve only been living in our new home for 5 months, and the joy that it has brought us already is so astounding!! Here are a few of our portraits in and around our new home. We feel so blessed and thank the Lord very often for this gift of homeownership!

I just adore my sons Daniel O’Brien and Gabriel Elijah. Seeing them every day run around our home, wrestling, running up and down the stairs, climbing on furniture, leaving their sticky hands on the walls, all of it just makes me so joyful (even the aftermath!). I love seeing them happy and thriving, thanks again Jesus.

I love how my husband comes home every day and takes care of the grounds and the grass. He turns his sprinklers on every week to make sure that his grass is thriving. He also takes pride in taking care of our new rose bushes in the front of our home, as well as taking care of a Peace Lilly plant that his sister gave us for our housewarming. He has also adopted a baby tree and repotted her in our backyard. Whoever would have thought that a big burly man such as Daniel would have such a green thumb and a love for even the littlest of nature.

You said that if we are FAITHFUL over a FeW things, HALLELUJAH, that YOU would MAKE us RULER over many! Glory.

POEM: Woman

I was speechless when I read this. And, I got chills too. The Lord is good and a very wise God.

When God created woman he was working late on the 6th day…

An angel came by and asked.” Why spend so much time on her?”

The lord answered. “Have you seen all the specifications I have to meet to shape her?”

She must function on all kinds of situations,
She must be able to embrace several kids at the same time,
Have a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart,
She must do all this with only two hands,”
She cures herself when sick and can work 18 hours a day”.

THE ANGEL was impressed” Just two hands…..impossible!

And this is the standard model?”

The Angel came closer and touched the woman”
“But you have made her so soft, Lord”.
“She is soft”, said the Lord,
“But I have made her strong. You can’t imagine what she can endure and overcome”.

“Can she think?” The Angel asked…
The Lord answered. “Not only can she think, she can reason and negotiate”.

The Angel touched her cheeks….
“Lord, it seems this creation is leaking! You have put too many burdens on her”
“She is not leaking…it is a tear” The Lord corrected the Angel…

“What’s it for?” Asked the Angel…..
The Lord said. “Tears are her way of expressing her grief, her doubts, her love, her loneliness, her suffering and her pride.”…

This made a big impression on the Angel,
“Lord, you are a genius. You thought of everything.
A woman is indeed marvellous”.

Lord said.”Indeed she is.
She has strength that amazes a man.
She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens.
She holds happiness, love and opinions.
She smiles when she feels like screaming.
She sings when she feels like crying, cries when happy and laughs when afraid.
She fights for what she believes in.

Her love is unconditional.
Her heart is broken when a next-of-kin or a friend dies but she finds strength to get on with life”

The Angel asked: So she is a perfect being?
The lord replied: No. She has just one drawback
“She often forgets what she is worth”.

Send it to all the women u respect ….👍

So who is really doing whom a favour?

Turn Down the Sound

Dear One,

Sometimes, you have to turn down the sounds to hear the voice of the Lord. Turn it way down. Not just noises, not just chatter – but sound.

Turn it down to where it is silent. Even the music–turn down the music.

To everything there is a season. A time to dance and a time to laugh (see Ecclesiastes 3:4) – a time to speak, and a time to keep silence (see Ecclesiastes 3:7). Amen, “to keep silence” means rightfully – to observe (to keep), to ALLOW (consent to) silence. Selah.

As men and women of God, we have to allow silence to have its pure course in our lives. Silence keeps our conscience’s pure and silence allows us to hear God’s voice more sweetly. Make room for His beautiful spirit by clearing your mind from unnecessary sounds, while you seek His guidance.

Today I turn down the sounds of my natural reality and in my busy work life, to hear from God.

I need a move of God. He has given me His comforting touch, as well as His comforting Word. Now, I just want to hear more of His Holy Spirit whisper ever-so gently in my ear.

But, to do that and to sweetly enjoy communing with His spirit – you must turn down the sound. I find that when I do this, I am able to be used more completely by Him. I am able to allow Him to lead me more clearly.

Prayer: Lord, keep us today and always in our holy and righteous walk with You. Help us to turn down the sound in order to commune with your gentle Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thrive | II Corinthians 4

thrive, made to thrive, we were made to thrive, casting crowns

Click for Photo Source

My Lord has encouraged my soul on this morning. I adore my Savior, He is amazing at knowing my every need. Before I call, my Lord answers. Everything that the Holy Spirit has brought to the forefront of my mind, speaking to me, whispering gently;… and all of the scriptures, blogs and tweets that I have been reading just today alone… have referenced “abiding in Jesus.” That “He is the VINE, the True Vine.”

The music, songs and anthems on the radio have said: To “THRIVE” in Jesus; “be rooted,” and to “remain whole.” …To “keep the faith” and to “renew your mind.” Thus, the song on the radio goes on to say: “It’s time for us to more than just survive. We were made to thrive.” The “Made to Thrive” photo illustration above even shows a glimmer and a shadow of a tree’s branches and its vines. Amen. With this, we know now that we were made to thrive and further, to flourish; to have an abundant life (John 10:10a) and to be deeply connected to Jesus, our sole source (OUR SOUL’S SOURCE).

God comforts by not only showing us something once, but over, and over, more and more. Constantly reinforcing that relationship we have in Him. It’s like a conversation. He speaks one thing to your spirit, then you see the words somewhere; or you see the scripture confirmation. Hallelujah. And then, Jesus will comfort you with more and more, and more things that He speaks to your spirit; or shows you in the flesh — right in front of your eyes.

To illustrate and share what the Lord has done for me: this morning I read II Corinthians 4 (see below verses). –> Then, the word “Thrive” came to mind (which is a song that I hear every day on the radio). –> Next, I Googled the phrase “Made to Thrive” since this related directly to the Christian song that is popular right now and contained the same word that the Lord brought to my spirit. –> When I Googled this phrase, an image popped up with a Christian blog post linked to it. –> I clicked the blog post, and there… the exact chapter that the Lord led me to this morning while I was reading my bible at work: “II Corinthians 4” staring right at me.

GLORY! IT WAS AMAZING TO SAY THE LEAST! AMAZING!! God saw my need and brought me to the place in His word that I needed to be in that very moment. His spirit comforts me with something similar to: “Here beloved. Here is what I need you to see today. This is the sustenance that I have for your soul this morning. Read my word and be made whole; be made stronger.”

Renew your “inward man” (your spirit) every day. We need to DO THIS to remain, and WE NEED THIS TO THRIVE. Hallelujah.

So, how do you renew your spirit? How do you renew your mind? You simply open your Bible and sup with His holy word. You feed on it like your life depends on it – which it does. God’s scriptures are more fulfilling than any earthly food you could ever eat. It is more satisfying that any honeycomb you will ever taste. And, that is real.

What if we supped with Jesus and His word every day? Every single day of our lives? Our souls would be lifted out of darkness, the very countenance of our faces would shine. Our spirits would be lifted from the pits of solemnity and our outward lives would become transformed as a result of renewing our “inward man.” Our dry places would turn into visions of hope and rays of glory.

II Corinthians 4, King James Version (KJV)

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Take-Away Encouraging Scriptures, Moments and Key Life Phrases:

  • John 16:13 a, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth,”
  • “We Were MADE to THRIVE” (reference John 15:5, John 10:10). “Thrive” – on its most basic level means “To Flourish, be prosperous, be nimble.”
  • II Corinthians 4:16a, “the inward man is renewed day by day.” Amen, we must be renewed in Jesus’ strength day by day. Every day of our lives we need to spend time with Him for our spiritual strength and everlasting, non-perishing sustenance.

Hope Anchors the Soul

An anchor is something that is dropped into the ocean to dock a boat or a ship; to keep it sturdy, in place and still.

When the wave of life’s problems and issues come crashing in, we have a hope which is found in Jesus, anchoring the very depths of our souls.

Hebrews 6:19 says, “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”

Sometimes our souls rage and run freely with emotions that are purely based upon hidden feelings, circumstances and situations, oftentimes caused by the ones the closest to us, including our spouses. Those emotions often contain undealt with and hidden desire, envy, hurt, and pain all of which are outwardly manifested in our behavior toward one another.

When we turn away from one another by doing or saying hurtful things and allowing ugly things to come out of our mouths, we shamelessly feel as though we have freed ourselves from a situation that has made us feel bound. But, not so. These emotions must be dealt with and tamed. Untamed emotions can cause our hearts to run sinfully wild and free.

In Jesus, our hearts CAN become comforted and steady; our souls can be still and tamed. When our souls are on one accord with our spouse and when we are tamed with hope during stressful situations, our strength is made full. Our hope becomes sure (anchored) and sustained.

Strive for that persistent hope that keeps you anchored in your walks with Jesus. In Jesus our hearts and our souls must be anchored in order to maintain stability in this life.

|| S O N G ||

Old Hymnal: “If you soul is not anchored in Jesus, you will SURELY drift away.”

|| P R AY E R ||

Dear Jesus, restore us to one accord in our minds and in our marriages. Let Your glorious steadfast hope be an anchor for our souls. Lead and guide our emotions in our marriage, friendships, with our families, co-workers and simply in this life.

Let our SOULS be anchored in You, Jesus, with an unwavering hope. Calm the raging seas of our hearts and keep us in Your sweet, sweet presence. Abide in us Jesus and do a good work in our lives.

Keep us anchored in You so that we drift not away with the cares and lure of this life. In You, hope for tomorrow is found, and in Your mighty shelter are we calmed from our fears, doubts and unbelief. Blanket us with Your holy hope that anchors the soul.

Gracefully His,
